Baby avoids eating honey

Honey is one of the most used tonics. According to analysis, honey is rich in fructose, glucose and vitamin C, K, B1, B2, as well as a variety of organic acids and trace elements beneficial to human health. Some young parents like to add some honey to the baby’s drinking milk or boiling water to increase nutrition for the child or to make it smooth. However, it has been proven that babies under 1 year of age who consume honey and pollen products may cause food poisoning due to botulism.

Dust and soil often contain bacteria known as botulinum. The bees may bring contaminated pollen and toxins back to the beehive during pollen production. Traces of toxins can poison infants. Constipation lasted 1-3 weeks after poisoning, followed by flaccid paralysis, infant cries weakly, weak breasts, and difficulty breathing. Therefore, for babies' healthy growth and development, it is best not to give honey to babies under 1 year old.
