This is the “IMC/Teddy Advantageâ€

IMC/Teddy has been a key player in the stainless steel foodservice industry for nearly 70 years now. Over this time, we've carved out a reputation as a leader in this field. But we didn’t achieve this by just following the crowd. Instead, we’ve created a unique experience that sets us apart from the rest.
In this article, we’ll explore what makes IMC/Teddy special in six distinct ways. These are the core principles that define our brand and guide everything we do. Let’s jump right in.
First off, we only use Type 300 series stainless steel—specifically the 304 and 316 alloys. While there are multiple grades and alloys of stainless steel, only a few meet food-grade standards. Among these, Type 300 stands out due to its excellent balance of performance and versatility. Types 200 and 400 lack the necessary corrosion resistance and durability required for foodservice applications. Additionally, we never use galvanized steel, as it lacks the rust resistance and durability needed for food-safe products.
Secondly, we avoid using plastic components entirely. Although plastic might seem cost-effective, it doesn't hold up well under the constant wear and tear of commercial environments. It tends to crack or warp, which is why we opt for 100% stainless steel gussets and bullet feet in all our products. This choice ensures longer product lifespan and reduces maintenance costs over time.
Thirdly, every item we produce is fully welded. At IMC, we believe in delivering a finished product that is seamless and durable. This means no visible gaps or disjointed parts when you receive our products. Each piece undergoes rigorous quality checks before leaving our facility.
Fourth, our commitment to quality extends to our manufacturing location. All of our stainless steel products are made right here in the United States, specifically in our factory in Amityville, NY. There are several reasons for this: American steel is known for its superior quality, with a lower risk of rusting and stricter manufacturing regulations. Furthermore, the U.S. steel industry is environmentally responsible and contributes significantly to the national economy by supporting nearly 2 million jobs.
Fifth, our products are NSF approved. The NSF is the premier certification body for foodservice equipment, ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards. Having NSF-certified equipment helps prevent penalties and ensures operational efficiency. Most of our products already meet these standards, providing customers with added peace of mind.
Lastly, we believe in the value of human craftsmanship. Every product from IMC is crafted by skilled workers, not automated machines. Human hands bring a level of adaptability and creativity that machines cannot replicate, allowing us to maintain high-quality standards consistently.
These advantages make IMC a reliable partner for your next project. We take pride in our work and are committed to delivering excellence in every piece we create. If you’re interested in learning more about our mission, feel free to click [here].
