Winter cucumbers must be fertilized by "sheds"

The wintering cucumbers in protected areas ranged from 7 to 9 months from the time of planting till the time of planting, which resulted in high yield and large nutrient uptake. Therefore, the re-application of organic fertilizers and proper application of chemical fertilizers are the basis for obtaining high yields of cucumbers. Due to the large amount of cucumber fertilizer applied in greenhouses, after several years of continuous planting, there is more accumulation of nutrients in the soil. Therefore, over-winter cucumbers must be fertilized by “sheds” (new sheds and old sheds).

First, the new greenhouse cultivation of cucumber fertilizer

Firstly, apply organic fertilizer (perishable chicken manure, pig manure, cow dung or other high-quality ring fertilizer) per acre before planting cucumber, and 8 to 10 cubic meters of urea, 5 to 10 kg of urea, 50 to 75 kg of superphosphate, and chlorine. Potassium 25 to 30 kilograms, zinc sulfate 1 to 2 kilograms, and borax 0.5 kilograms. The results of cucumber flowering began to be combined with watering for topdressing, usually in the winter every 3 to 4 weeks for topdressing, and 1 to 2 weeks for top dressing in the spring. The amount of fertilization per application is 3 to 5 kg of urea per mu, 3 to 5 kg of superphosphate, and 2 to 3 kg of potassium chloride. It is also possible to top up application of ternary compound fertilizer, 12 to 15 kg per mu, and With the application of urea 3 kg.

II. Fertilization of Cucumber Cultivation in Old Sheds for 3 Years

In the process of greenhouse vegetable growing, the “input amount” of fertilizer is often 3 to 5 times that of vegetables “taken away”. The longer the cultivation period of greenhouses, the more nutrients accumulated in the soil. The most abundant nutrient in the greenhouse is phosphorus. In fact, compared with food crops, the demand for phosphorus in vegetables is relatively small, and phosphorus is not easily lost in soil. Therefore, the greenhouse soil is relatively rich in phosphorus. However, when too much, it can easily cause imbalance between soil nutrients, affecting yield and reducing fertilizer efficiency. At present, soil in greenhouses is not lack of nutrients, but imbalance between nutrients. It is advisable to implement soil testing and formulating fertilization according to the crops where conditions permit. Application of organic fertilizer to improve the overall fertility of the soil, appropriate application of nitrogen and potassium fertilizer, and less application of phosphate fertilizer.

Generally before the colonization of cucumbers, 5 to 7 cubic meters of organic fertilizer, 30 to 45 kg of superphosphate and 10 to 20 kg of potassium chloride are applied per acre. The results of cucumber flowering began to be combined with watering for topdressing, usually in the winter every 4 to 5 weeks for top dressing, and for 2 to 3 weeks in the spring top dressing. The amount of fertilization per application is 5 to 10 kilograms of urea per mu, 2 to 3 kilograms of superphosphate, 1 to 2 kilograms of potassium chloride, or direct application of ternary compound fertilizer, 15 to 20 kilograms per mu, and With the application of 2.5 kg of urea is appropriate.
