Rice bastard disease, commonly known as white stalk disease and leggy disease, is one of the common diseases of rice.

Transmission routes and conditions: Seed carriers and diseased rice straw are the primary sources of infection. The conidia produced on the dead seedlings can be re-infested by wind and rain. The optimum temperature for infection is 30~35°C. In the flowering of rice, conidia infect the flower plant, resulting in valley or deformity, invading the cultivar or seed coat tissue, and causing the seed to carry bacteria. During threshing, the conidia of the diseased part will also fall down and adhere to the seed, and the germ will overwinter on the surface of the seed.

Control methods: (1) Use disease-free seeds. (2) Treat the seeds. The selection of jinbo root seedlings for seed dressing treatment. (3) to improve the cultivation and management techniques, pregerminate should not be too long before sowing, so as not to be traumatized when the next species, easy to invade the bacteria; to remove the earthworm as far as possible to avoid root damage is too heavy to reduce the incidence. (4) Remove the diseased plant in time and destroy it.
