Ramie Starworm

Ophthalmodes irrorataria (Bremer et Grey) Lepidoptera, Geometridae. Distributed in Northeast China, North China, Shandong, Hebei, Sichuan, Zhejiang, and Taiwan.

Host ramie, apple, pear, jujube, citrus, jellyfish, buckthorn and other plants.

The larvae attack the larvae into nicks or holes.

Morphological characteristics Adult body length 18mm, green brown or grayish white. Before and after the wings with a plurality of dark brown zigzag horizontal lines, the middle of the wing has a kidney-shaped black lines, each with a star-shaped spot on the front and rear wings, and walnut star ruler moth is similar, but the body is smaller, four spot is also small. There is a taint band on the inside of the hind wing. The back of the wing is full of stains, and the outer edge of the black belt is uninterrupted. Eggs are oval in shape and greenish blue. The last instar larvae are about 65 mm in length, light yellow-green in color, with fine longitudinal stripes in black, and one pair of knob-like protrusions in the second and eighth abdominal segments. About 20mm in length, the body is dark brown in the first half and reddish brown in the second half.

Occurrence algebra of living habits is unknown. In August, Hebei suffered ramie in mid-August and phlegm in mid-September.
