I. Disadvantages of early harvest of summer corn At present, the outstanding problem in the production of summer corn in southern Fujian is the early harvest of summer corn. The current large-scale planting of summer corn includes Zhengdan 958, Yudan 20, Yuyu 13, Daiyu 35 and Xianyu 335. The actual growth period is 105 to 110 days, and the grain filling needs 50 to 52 days if the sowing date. On June 10, the harvest period should be from September 25 to October 1. Farmers harvest time is actually September 15 and peak on September 20, grain filling is less than 45 days, corn is wax cooked. In the period, it was not fully matured and was harvested. Not only was the previous investment in fertilizer and water wasted, the production potential of the variety was not fully tapped, and the corn starch accumulation time was short and the grouting was not full, affecting the yield, generally resulting in a reduction of production by about 10%. Also declined.

Second, the advantages of regular late harvest In general, the corn began to harvest at the wax ripening period, the current situation in the production of summer maize in southern Anhui, from the wax ripening period, every night for 1 day, 1000-grain weight increased by 3 to 4 grams The yield per mu is increased by 6 to 8 kg. If it is received for 7 to 10 days in the evening, the mu yield can be increased to more than 55 kg. For example, the corn harvest period in Guangping County should be moved to September 25-30.

Third, the maturity of standard corn in summer maize matured during the three stages of milk-cooked, wax-matured, and ripe-maturing. There are three criteria for judging maturity: First, corn leaves turn white, and temporal leaves loose. The second is the disappearance of the milk line. Peel the corn ear and break it from the middle. You can see that there is a yellow-white border line in the grain, which is the milk line. If you can see the milk line, the corn is in the wax ripening period, and when the milk line is not visible, the corn is fully mature. The third is the emergence of black layers of grain. After removing the corn grain, the pedicel at the bottom of the grain is removed. If a layer of black is seen, it indicates that the corn has matured. The black layer is called the black layer.
