Strawberry breeding

Strawberries are Rosaceae. The genus of strawberries is a perennial evergreen, with stolons. Plant height generally does not exceed 30 cm. Its branches are green, red fruits, and white flowers are clustered. They can be viewed, the fruits are edible, and they can be processed into strawberry jam and strawberries. Wine and so on. Strawberry is native to Chile and is now widely cultivated around the world with more than 2,000 varieties. Strawberry love light, hi wet, afraid of water stains, drought-resistant, more cold-resistant, hi fertile and breathable good sandy loam. When the temperature rises above 5 degrees in spring, the plants begin to germinate, and the optimum growth temperature is 20-26 degrees. The Jiangsu region germinated in late February and flowered in the middle and early April. The fruit matured in mid-May. In autumn, the temperature is below 17 degrees, and flower buds differentiate under short-day conditions of 10-12 hours, and there is short-term dormancy in winter. Strawberry breeding is easy, mainly using the ramets method. One of the methods is to cut off the leaves when the stem has three leaves and more fibrous roots. The second method is to split the side branches of the old plant with 3-4 leaves that are branching and well rooted. After the stem shoots and ramets branch onto the pots, they are irrigated with water and placed in the shade for a week before moving to a place with sufficient sunshine for normal maintenance and management.
