A heavy turn
(I) Phenomenon When the vehicle is turning right and left, turning the steering wheel feels heavy and laborious.

(B) Reasons Steering gear worms in the upper and lower bearing over-tight adjustment or bearing damage; pot rod and roller meshing too tight steering shaft bending or tubing concave; steering rocker and liner clearance is too small; lack of oil in the steering gear or no Oil; Knuckle thrust bearings lack of oil or damage to the steering knuckle kingpins and bushes are too tight or lack of lubrication; knuckle tie rod screw plug too tight or tie rod joint lack of oil; tie rod, front axle or frame Bending deformation; Inaccurate positioning of front wheels; Insufficient tire pressure.

(III) Judgment method
1. When the steering rocker arm is removed and the steering wheel is turned, if it still feels heavy, it is generally a malfunction inside the steering gear. Such as the worm up and down the bearing is too tight or the bearing is damaged; the roller and the screw are engaged too tightly; the gap between the steering rocker shaft and the bush is too small.

When you turn the steering wheel, if you hear a scratching sound, it is usually caused by steering bends or tubing dents, causing mutual scratching, or may be caused by the steering shaft colliding with the grinding column.

2. Remove the steering arm and turn the steering wheel to feel light and flexible, which means there is no fault in the steering gear. At this time, the jack is used to lift the front wheel by hand and pull the wheel left and right. If the board is not moving or can feel difficult to move, the heavy steering may be due to lack of oil or damage to the knuckle thrust bearing; Over-tightening of the pin and bushing or lack of oil: The tie rod screw is too tight or the lever head is lacking of oil.

3. If the above checks are all good, you should check whether the tie rod is bent, whether the front axle and frame are deformed, whether the front wheel alignment is inaccurate and whether the tire pressure is too low.

Second, deviation
(I) When the vehicle is moving, it feels that the vehicle is automatically biased to the side. The steering wheel must be held firmly in order to maintain the straight direction.

(b) Causes Tire pressures are inconsistent; left and right springs of leaf springs are not the same; side wheel brakes are stuck or the front wheel hub bearings are too tight: the front wheels are misaligned and the frame is deformed.

(III) Judgment method
1. Check whether the tire pressure is consistent, otherwise inflate the tire to the specified value according to the regulations.

2. When the tire pressure is the same, look from the front of the car. If the car is high on one side and low on one side, check whether the spring on the low side is broken, and whether the leaf spring is too soft or arc is not enough.

3. After the vehicle has travelled for a distance, it is used to touch the brakes and hot and hot at the hub bearings, which indicates that the hub bearing is too tight.

Third, the direction of instability
(I) Phenomenon When the vehicle is moving, the steering wheel is shaken and the front wheel is swaying. When the vehicle is serious, the steering wheel is difficult to control.

(2) The ball joints of the horizontal and the straight drawbars wear loosely; the kingpins of the steering knuckles and the bushings are seriously worn, and the clearance is too large; the front wheel bearings are loose; the meshing gap between the worm gear and the roller of the steering gear is too large; on the worm, The bearing clearance is too large.

If you are driving at low speed, the front wheels are not clearly swaying, but the front wheels will swing and the steering wheel will flicker during fast driving. In addition to the above reasons, there may also be: front rim arching; tires are equipped with lining or retreaded tires: Not allowed; leaf spring bolt loose; front axle bent and frame deformation.

(III) Judgment method

1. When one person turns the steering wheel and another person observes it under the car, if the steering wheel turns and the steering arm does not rotate, the fault is in the steering mechanism itself. Check whether the clearance between the upper and lower worm bearings and the worm and the roller are too large. Swing the steering wheel to the left and right to judge whether the meshing gap between the worm and the roller is too large. Pulling the steering wheel up and down, judging from the feeling to determine whether the gap between the upper and lower bearing of the steering gear worm is too large, if it is too large, it should be adjusted.

2. When one person turns the steering wheel and the other observes under the car, if the steering arm rotates a lot and the front wheel is not deflected, check whether the ball joints of the steering arm and the horizontal straight pull rod are loose, and if necessary, adjust them. Then set up the front axle and push the tire by hand to check if the gap between the kingpin of the steering knuckle and the bush is too large and if the front wheel bearing is loose.

3. Check if the front rim is arched. You can put the front wheel up first, place a stylus next to the rim (without a stylus, you can also use iron wire on bricks or wood), then turn the wheel and place the stylus near the wheel rim, to see the degree of arching, generally should not exceed 3 ~ 5mm, otherwise it should be corrected.
