Agricultural farmers should pay attention before the spring broadcast

With the weather warming up, the time for spring sowing is approaching, and the maintenance of agricultural machinery across the city has been completed, with machines now ready for use. On April 16th, a reporter visited several farms to observe large farming equipment in action. Many farmers were curious about what they should pay attention to before the spring planting season and how to make the most of their efforts to achieve better results with less work.
According to experts from the city's Agricultural Machinery Station, it's essential to prepare seeds, fertilizers, and replacement parts before the planting season begins. This helps avoid delays that could affect the timing of sowing. Seeds must be dry and clean, free from debris like straw or stones, to prevent clogging the seed outlet and ensuring proper sowing quality. When using precision seeding methods, seeds should be carefully selected, and fertilizers should be clean to maintain the accuracy and effectiveness of the process.
Once all pre-planting preparations are done, attention should be given to the actual planting process, including sowing, turning, and machine operation. Sowing machines should avoid stopping during operation, and if they do, they should be parked properly to prevent issues like "broken bars" in the seedlings. When the machine needs to stop, it should lift the seeder, move back slightly, and restart sowing. When lowering the seeder, the tractor should move slowly to ensure smooth operation. The seed drill must not be retracted while the opener is in the ground, as this can cause blockages or damage to the opener.
When making turns, the planter should be lifted to cut off the power supply to the metering device and fertilizer feeder, while also raising the marker and opener. Operators should continuously monitor the seeder’s performance during operation, checking whether the metering device is functioning correctly, if the fertilizer applicator is working properly, if there are any blockages in the fertilizer pipes, and whether the disc opener is rotating smoothly. They should also check if the wheel opener is turning correctly, if the track marker and opener are operating normally, and if the seed and fertilizer boxes have sufficient supplies.
When sowing seeds mixed with pesticides, workers should wear gloves, masks, and goggles for protection. Any leftover seeds should be disposed of properly and promptly, avoiding littering to prevent environmental harm and potential risks to people and animals.
