Agricultural farmers should pay attention before the spring broadcast

With the arrival of warmer weather, the time for spring sowing is approaching, and the city has completed the maintenance of all agricultural machinery, which is now ready for use. On April 16th, a reporter visited rural areas to observe several large farm machines in action. Many farmers expressed concerns about what they should pay attention to when preparing for spring sowing and how they can ensure efficient planting with minimal effort. According to experts from the city's Agricultural Machinery Station, it's essential to prepare seeds, fertilizers, and replace any worn-out parts before the season begins. This helps avoid delays that could impact the planting schedule. Seeds must be dry and clean, free from debris like straw or stones, to prevent clogging the seed outlet and ensuring even sowing. When using precision seeding equipment, it's important to select high-quality seeds and keep the fertilizer clean, as impurities can affect both seed placement and fertilizer distribution. Once all pre-sowing preparations are complete, attention should be given to the actual planting process—such as turning, operating, and managing the machinery. Sowing machines should avoid stopping during operation; if they do, they should be parked properly to prevent "broken bar" issues in the seedlings. When lifting the machine, it should be raised gradually, then lowered again after moving forward slightly. When lowering the seeder, the tractor should move slowly to avoid damaging the soil opener. When making turns, the planter should be lifted to disconnect the metering device and fertilizer feeder, while also raising the marker and opener to prevent damage. During operation, the operator should continuously monitor the seeder’s performance, checking whether the metering system is functioning correctly, if the fertilizer distributor is working, and whether there are any blockages in the fertilizer pipes. They should also ensure that the disc opener is rotating smoothly and that the wheel opener is operating as intended. Additionally, they should check that the track marker and opener are working properly, and that the seed and fertilizer boxes are adequately filled. When sowing seeds mixed with pesticides, workers must wear protective gear such as gloves, masks, and goggles. Any leftover seeds should be disposed of properly and not scattered to prevent environmental contamination or harm to people and animals.
