Pomegranate tree management points in summer and autumn

Summer and autumn is the most vigorous growth of pomegranate, and it is also the fruiting period of flowering. Its management should pay attention to the following aspects:

Fertilization. For unsapling saplings, after applying for two-thirds of the flowers and one month prior to fruit ripening, a single fertilizer is applied to the trees that are already forested. In addition to the above two fertilizations, the budding buds begin early. Still need to add a fertilizer. The types of fertilizers were mainly nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers in the early stage and potassium fertilizer in the later stage. The amount of fertilizer to be used depends on the number of results. There are fewer results and the amount of fertilizer can be less, and vice versa.

Summer renovation. Pomegranate is a tree species that is very happy. The branches of the canopy are distributed densely and densely so that both inside and outside can be airy and transparent. On the basis of winter and spring renovations, topping will be carried out during the summer, and short cuts or removals of tender tips will be carried out on the shoots, and care should be taken to remove the excess buds to reduce their competition for nutrients. This is also beneficial to the foliage. Reasonable distribution is conducive to ventilation and light transmission.

Flower protection and thinning and fruit thinning. Pomegranate flowers are bisexual flowers, and the abortion rate of pistil is relatively high. Generally, the rate of complete flowering is only 10% to 25%, so the fruit setting rate is relatively low. The flowering period of pomegranate is more than one month. According to the sooner or later of flowering, it is divided into head lice, two pods, three pods and end pod flowers. The total flowering and fruit setting rate of the first three pods determines the level of yield. The fruits of the head flower are larger in size, while those in the late flower shape are smaller. Therefore, if multiple results are needed to achieve high yield and quality, the total number of flowers and fruit set rates of head lice and second pod flowers must be increased. For this reason, degenerate buds should be eliminated promptly on the basis of rational fertilization and pruning of the four seasons. The difference between complete and degraded flowers is that the fully flowering ovary is hypertrophy, looks like peanut, the pistil is higher or equal to the anther of the stamen, and the degenerated flower is the ovary thin, shaped like a horn, and the pistil is lower than the anther.
