Glass beer will halve arthritis every Friday

Researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden surveyed tens of thousands of residents, asked them about smoking and drinking, and determined their genetic risk through blood tests. As a result, it was found that among those who drink alcohol regularly, those who stayed around 5 cups (1 cup is about 237 ml) per week had a 50% lower risk of rheumatoid arthritis than those who did not drink or drink too much. Especially those smokers with high genetic risk of rheumatoid arthritis, the right amount of beer or wine can enhance their body's immunity.

The researchers pointed out that rheumatoid arthritis is mainly due to a decrease in the patient's own immune system, resulting in swelling and inflammation of the joints, and even severe disability. Because alcohol has an inhibitory effect on the immune system, arthritis symptoms can be relieved.

Dr. Henrik Kalberger, the moderator of this study, pointed out that this effect is only applicable to people who have symptoms of early arthritis. They do not claim that old patients with arthritis will drink from now to reduce their illness. In addition, drinking is not always better and it should be enough.
